    Five IMOCA teams competed during 2023 in a race around the world for The Ocean Race Trophy, while six VO65 teams raced in three stages for a new trophy called The Ocean Race VO65 Sprint Cup.

The VO65 fleet did not race around the world. Instead the fleet competed in a new event - The Ocean Race VO65 Sprint - which matched leg 1, 6, 7 of the around the world race.
